Features and benefits
About Schaffer wheel loaders.
Schaffer leads the world in high performance, industrial build wheel loaders. Ultra-strength is combined with compact size and clever German engineering to outperform competitors.
There are numerous technical reasons why Schaffer wheel loaders tick all the boxes. Designed with a massive amount of weight out the back of the rear axle, lift capacity is maximised at the front. The centre of gravity is low, offering superior performance in any condition.
The articulation angle is also the highest on the market, maximising productivity in confined areas and speeding up work.

Who uses Schaffer wheel loaders?
Schaffer wheel loaders are boosting productivity in mining, earthmoving, construction, local councils, horticulture and landscaping and many other industries.
The versatility of over 50 attachments allows Schaffer wheel loaders to be adapted for almost any task. Why buy a machine for every job when your Schaffer wheel loader can become a power plant to quickly do just about any job?
Designed and built with more muscle power.
Greater breakout and lifting forces – that's the Schaffer advantage.
Our expert engineers use the latest 3D computer-aided design, optimised by years of experience, to create the strongest wheel loaders available.
All masts use 30mm plate, massive twin lift cylinders and enormous crowd cylinders to give years of trouble-free operation. It's why quality Schaffer's German engineering always outperforms in the long run.

Oscillating rear axle for productivity, safety and comfort.
Schaffer wheel loaders have another feature rarely seen on this size loader – an oscillating rear axle. Schaffer engineers don't skimp on quality. It's one more reason why Schaffer performs better and outlasts the rest.
The oscillating rear axle, similar to an oscillating articulation joint, allows the loader's wheels to stay on the ground – increasing traction in rough conditions and giving the operator a more comfortable ride by acting like a suspension system. Every little bump isn't transferred into the cabin, saving your back and allowing you to work faster and more productively.
But the big difference with an oscillating rear axle is a massive boost in performance and safety. Performance is increased as the loader's full length can be used as a shovel. Just as a crowbar acts as a lever imparting high force on the end, a loader with an oscillating rear axle does the same, improving breakout.
An oscillating rear axle is also more stable as the counterweight comes into play earlier, stabilising the loader faster.

Oversized articulation joints with long life guarantee.
At Schaffer we back the quality of our articulation joints with the longest articulation joint warranty on the market – three years or 3,000 operating hours.
The special design, perfected over more than 50 years, also minimises the entry of sand, ensuring a wear paste isn't created inside the joint and extending longevity.
Deutz Motors – simply spectacular.
The largest of Schaffer's wheel loader range uses 110hp and 130hp water cooled, intercooled turbo Deutz which are world renown for their reliability and exceptionally low fuel consumption.
Schaffer has worked in partnership with Deutz for their bigger engines for over 25 years. The WATER COOLED Deutz range is quiet, with low running costs and a very long, low maintenance engine life as the block cools down slowly due to the coolant.
In a recent independent test Schaffer was awarded the most fuel efficient loader, even though it has the biggest engine of 110hp, using just 10.3 litres per hour. Some of it's smaller engine competitors used up to 14.5 litres per hour during the test which equates to a much higher operating cost during its lifetime.
Every engine is now Tier 4 to meet the strictest emissions levels on the planet.
Deutz uses ever reliable state-of-the-art common-rail injection systems to ensure low noise emissions, minimal vibration and smooth running characteristics under all operating conditions. The low operation RPM of Deutz also guarantees low fuel consumption.
The new water-cooled BF4M 2012 4-cylinder engines from Deutz. You can be sure that the engines are extremely reliable even under difficult conditions. The technical data is convincing: one litre displacement per cylinder, excellent torque increase, specific fuel consumption of approximately 200 g/kWh, quiet and clean.
Simple, ergonomic controls.
In a Schaffer wheel loader, everything simply works at the touch of a joystick.
Two speed, high and low range shift-on-the-go is standard, giving a top speed of 20km/hr (optional 35km/hr).
The joystick controls forward and reverse with a switch on top – no need to hit a shuttle lever for motion controls. Two speed is at the side and all mast motions are via the joystick.
This ease of operation and fine control allows the operator to focus on the job at hand for maximum productivity.
The hydrostatic drive provides high pushing power, faster travel speed and effortless control.
Driver's cockpit.

Industrial quality Bosch/Rexroth hydraulics.
Schaffer could source cheaper hydraulics but we choose not to. We realise that quality hydraulics are the crux of a great loader. When only the best will do, Bosch/Rexroth is synonymous with long-term reliability. Bosch is backed Australia-wide with its own specialist network and the Schaffer network, giving you peace of mind.
Auxiliary controls at your fingertips.
Schaffer wheel loaders have standard auxiliary controls on the joystick, making your loader a true integrated tool carrier for any job.
Cooling is optimised to allow it to run high flow accessories. If you really need high flow, Schaffer's 110hp and 130hp have best-in-class high auxiliary flow available for mulchers and cold planers.
Electric auxiliary controls in the joystick makes working with 4-in-1 buckets, grabs and augers a breeze. The mast is lowered by pushing forward and the log is grabbed at the same time with fingertip controls. This allows the operator to keep their hands on the steering wheel, for the highest safety standards.

Clear visibility maximises productivity and safety.
Schaffer's exclusive design has a relatively narrow conical loading arm which tapers to the chassis to give you the best vision of your working area possible.
Even the cylinders are centrally mounted to further enhance vision – you can really see what you're doing when you drive a Schaffer.
Only on Schaffer wheel loaders do you find hydraulic cylinders freely suspended with spherical bearings instead of fixed pins so pins wear evenly and outlast the rest.

Outboard planetary axles for more pushing power.
Schaffer's wheel loader series only use outboard planetary axles to produce the highest pushing forces.
Limited slip differentials are standard back and front to limit wheel slip and harness the torque.
Schaffer's exclusive axles are matched to each loader model – this is why independent tests confirm Schaffer outpushes the rest.
Axles on any loader are one of the most important components – they must carry heavy loads and transfer the high torque of the hydrostatic power into pushing forces over many years. Schaffer's axles are designed to push hard and last.

The most comfortable cabins on the market.
The new Schaffer SCV-cab (Silence/Comfort/View) cabin is here – and it's been acclaimed as the most comfortable cabin available.
From the adjustable steering wheel to the integration of the armrest and joystick, everything has been designed with German precision for the ultimate in ergonomic comfort during long working days.
German quality Grammer arm rest seats are standard with air seat options also available to cater for individual preferences.
The lowest cabins on the market for agility and safety.
Schaffer Loaders are not only the most compact articulated loaders on the market, they are also the lowest, which offers you a number of benefits.
A low operating height means you can squeeze into tight spots, monitor ground conditions with ease and there are no safety dramas climbing in and out.

Class leading tipping heights.
Schaffer wheel loaders have a 3.4m pivot point, with a 3.8m option also available in the 9000 series. That means you can load high-sided trucks and stack pallet racks at lightning speed.
Maximum traction with wide, heavy duty tyres.
How do you convert great torque to maximum traction? With the right heavy duty wide tyre. We can option your machine with the right tyres for the job, from the standard heavy ply 405x70-20 in the 9300Z and an option of 550x45-22.5. The 9330Z comes standard with 600x40-22.5 tyres.
Are you in the waste, demolition or recycling industries? We have multiple options including solid press on, solid fill, liquid puncture-proof and more.
